Media House aims to provide broadcast solutions for all SportAccord members ©SAC

SportAccord has announced the launch of Media House, aimed at providing broadcast solutions for all its members, ahead of its upcoming Convention in Sochi.

In partnership with IEC in Sports, the SportAccord Media House will offer services in online video archive, broadcast operations, host broadcasting, digital distribution and programme production.

The Media House is born out of a desire to allow International Federations access to high-quality services anywhere in the world, it is claimed.

The rate card for services is set to be specially designed and priced, while bearing in mind the common needs of SportAccord’s Member Federations.

Rates have been benchmarked by international standards for all services, ranging from small-scale productions to mega-event productions, including live HD broadcast for multi-sport events.

“The SportAccord Media House is the latest service provided for the benefit of all members of SportAccord,” said SportAccord President Marius Vizer.

“Standardised broadcast of sports events is of extreme importance for the growth and proliferation of sports today, and these services will be provided at very attractive prices to all IFs.

“We also believe that the SportAccord Media House would enable easier access to high-quality and competent production options to the Federations for broadcast of their respective events.”

IEC in Sports is a leading sports media production house with its headquarters in Stockholm, producing live events and programmes for Federations around the world.

All services provided by IEC in Sports will be independent of rights, agencies and host broadcasters.

“We are delighted to partner with SportAccord for the launch of the SportAccord Media House,” said Daniel Franck, chief executive of IEC in Sports.

“IEC in Sports has been offering broadcast and production solutions to many international federations’ satisfaction for many years now and through the platform of the international federations’ union, we would be able to expand into new sports.

“We are committed to delivering services consistent with our reputation and have a professional and committed workforce that strives to deliver excellence in all endeavours.

“The SportAccord Media House would be of special importance to those sports who have not been able to maximise their broadcast potential in the digital age.”

The services of the SportAccord Media House will not be restricted to the international governing bodies and will also be available to National Federations and Local Organising Committees alike.

Additional services will be offered to all of SportAccord’s members in the future, encompassing the range of operations of all sports federations and seeking to ease access to service providers for all essential aspects of sports management and events, such as merchandising, medals, lighting and venue arrangements.

The six-day SportAccord Convention, due to take place from April 19 to 24 at the Sochi ExpoCentre, will allow key decision-makers in sport to engage with business leaders across more than 25 industry sectors.

It features a three-day Conference, a "dynamic" exhibition, LawAccord, City Forum, the SportAccord Convention Village and Sports Demo Zone, as well the annual general meetings of many other governing bodies across world sport.
